Mom's Beer Bread and Cheese dip

I went home to Florida for the holidays this year and my mom had made this amazing beer bread. Ok I absolutely hate beer, but you can't really taste it all that much in this recipe.  I thought it was good! She also made a Baked Cheese Dip. It's definitely not diet friendly, but it's SO good and addicting.

Mom's Beer Bread
3 cups Self Rising flour- sifted
2-3T sugar
1-12oz beer (I think she used Coors, but be creative!)
1/2c butter

Mix sugar, flour, and beer together. In a loaf pan, coat the side of pan with 1/4c of the butter, there will be some butter "standing"...that's ok. Put bread mixture into loaf pan and pour remaining butter on top. It will look like a pool of butter, but it gets absorbed. Bake at 375* for about 1 hr. Awesome!

Mom has suggested adding different things to bread batter like Cheddar cheese, onions, etc.

Baked Cheese Dip
1c Cheddar Cheese, grated
1c Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
8oz. cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 c sour cream
2T powdered chicken bullion
1tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1small onion finely chopped.

Mix all ingredients together with an electric mixer. Put into a baking dish (medium square worked best for us). Bake at 350* for about 60-75mins. Delish!
